After laying the proverbial egg two days after Easter, the Toronto Maple Leafs are on life support. They lost last night 6-2 to the Boston Bruins, who they trail for 8th in the Eastern Conference by 6 points. I think there are 5 games left. Why not just admit its over. Its been over since December. Valiant effort by an underachieving hockey club. Put in the shoty backup goalie, bring up the kids, and sign Mats Sundin or plan the tribute for his retirement. But please stop, stop, stop saying that “we are almost done.” Let the season end the way the last few have, breaking out the golf clubs.
