Welcome Home Tony O!

Last night the Chicago Blackhawks honored one of their greatest players ever, Tony Esposito. Tony O was yet another of the former Hawk greats to be reunited with the team. The Hawks surprised him by bring his brother Phil back for the ceremony. The Blackhawks, fittingly, then blanked the Washington Capitals. Khabibulin preserved the shutout with the save of the season, stopping Alexander Semin’s attempt at an open net with a full-out dive and snaring the puck with his glove with 2 minutes 53 seconds remaining. It was beautiful. Another great thing to see was the full house at the United Center. The sellout was the Hawks’ ninth of the season, which is more than the previous five seasons combined.
